Kathy Griffin was telling the Late Show'sDavid Letterman all about co-hosting CNN's New Year's Eve special with Anderson Cooper, host of Anderson, and her spontaneous decision to spice things up and strip down to her underwear on the holiday show, when she teased Dave that she'd strip right now.
"Go," Dave said. "Do it."
"Go?" Griffin responded.
"Yea, go, sure," Dave said.
"All right," Griffin said, standing up and slipping the sleeve of her dress offer her shoulder.
"Is there anything I can do?" Dave laughed.
"I don't think so," Grifin replied. "Well, you could unzip this."
"I don't think I should do that," Dave chuckled.
Griffin eventually got down to skivvies before putting her dress back on.
It wasn't the first time an actress revealed herself on Dave's show. Back in the 1990s, Drew Barrymore joined Dave on a show that aired on Dave's birthday. As a gift, Drew danced on Dave's desk - and quickly flashed him. The cameras caught it all (from behind) and Dave was noticeably surprised. He would later quip that it was "the best birthday present I've ever received."

Talk show host Stephen Colbert can't get any votes in today's primary in South Carolina. But Herman Cain can.
Cain dropped out of the race to be the GOP's presidential nominee last month after news broke he allegedly cheated on his wife. But his name remains on the ballot in South Carolina.
Colbert saw this as an opportunity to prove his ability to be "the President of the United States of South Carolina." If voters can't vote for Colbert, then can vote for Cain to show their loyalty to Colbert.
To get out the vote, Colbert held a rally today at the Cistern Yard, College of Charleston, in Charleston, S.C., alongside Cain. The rally included two marching bands, a gospel choir, majorettes, cheerleaders and a throng of young people.
"I won't be saying things like the only difference between Mitt Romney and a statue of Mitt Romney is that the statue never changes its position," Colbert said at the Colbert-Cain Rally. "And it would be wrong to say that if you guessed Ron Paul's real name, he has to teach you how to spin straw into gold. And I'm not going to answer the gotcha question, 'Am I interested in an open marriage?' Though I'm flattered that Newt Gingrich asked me."
While making fun of other politicians in the race, Colbert also pointed a satirical - and serious - finger at election laws that allow Super PACs (political action committees) to collect millions in donations. Super PACs then turn around and run adds for their chosen candidate, supposedly with no cooperation or coordination with the candidate. But dozens of loopholes allow that very thing to happen - loopholes Colbert has spent the few months pointing out on his show.
For his part, Cain sang a song or two, made some jokes, and then asked the crowd not to vote for him. He said he didn't want voters to waste their vote.

Fans of comedian Kathy Griffin rejoice. The gossipy redhead will soon host her own talk show.
This spring, the Bravo network will debut Griffin's new show, Kathy, a pop-culture potpourri premiering in primetime.
The weekly show will feature Griffin doing what she does best - carry-on about celebrities and her outlandish experiences in show business. It will also include celebrity interviews and comedy bits.
Griffin joins a host of new talk shows and talk show hosts vying for the audience Oprah Winfrey left behind (though Oprah is vying for that same audience, as well). Shows and hosts like:
- Katie with Katie Couric
- The Ricki Lake Show with Ricki Lake
- Steve Harvey's new talk show
- Jeff Probst's new talk
- The Revolution with Ty Pennington

If you missed Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, you missed one of the funniest musical comedy skits Jimmy's performed since his "History of Rap" with Justin Timberlake.
In the bit, Fallon dresses as David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust - if Ziggy Stardust had a love child with Tim Tebow - and sings a Tebowized version of Bowie's classic "Major Tom."
The song starts with Tebow speaking with Jesus, asking him to be there for him when the Denver Broncos quarterback takes on the New England Patriots this weekend.
Then the lyrics shift to Jesus speaking with Tebow. "This is Jesus Christ to Tim Tebow," Fallon sings. "Lee - EE - eave me alone." Jesus explains to Tebow that Sunday is his day off and he's tired of watching Denver Broncos games.

Fans of Stephen Colbert saw the late night talk show host and fake-conservative pundit announce his bid for the GOP presidential nomination in South Carolina - and just South Carolina - Thursday night.
The announcement came after a Public Policy Polling survey showed Colbert beating real GOP hopeful Jon Huntsman - if Colbert were on the ballot in South Carolina.
But he's not. And he's not likely to be. In fact, it's virtually impossible. The deadline to get on the ballot in the southern state was Nov. 1, and South Carolina forbids write-in votes in presidential primaries. The primary is set for Jan. 21, next Saturday.
To be honest, Colbert mentioned that he was only exploring his chances to run (which he'll likely announce are not possible as we get closer to next Saturday).
What Colbert is really doing is putting the spotlight on super PACs, political action committees that are meant to have no coordination with candidates, but are often organized and managed by people close to the candidates, such as former staffers, business partners and close friends. Donors can fund super PACs without limits.
Colbert mocked the super PAC rules by passing control of his super PAC, "Americans for a Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow," to his former co-worker and friend, Jon Stewart, host of The Daily Show. Stewart, who promised to have no coordination with Colbert and learn nothing of his campaign plans - unless he accidentally tuned into The Colbert Report - changed the name of the super PAC to "The Definitely Not Coordinated with Stephen Colbert Super PAC."

Talk show host Chelsea Handler's popular program has apparently grown too big for its britches - and is moving to a new studio. Specifically, Chelsea Lately is taking over legendary entertainer Jack Benny's old studio.
Oh, yeah, before we forget, the previous owner was a talk show host, too: Conan O'Brien. O'Brien was the studio's tenant briefly when he hosted The Tonight Show.
The new studio will get a redesign, though it won't stray too far from the look and feel of the current set. Hanlder told reporters at the winter Television Critics Association press tour that it would be "similar to what's on TV."
She also said there's a good reason she's not playing the fictional Chelsea Handler on her new sit-com, Are You There, Chelsea?
Put simply, Handler doesn't have time between Chelsea Lately, its spin-off comedy show, After Lately, her stand-up and writing. She will appear as her fictional sister, Sloane, in seven episodes (about half) this season. The program premieres Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.

Poor ratings for The Martha Stewart Show forced The Hallmark Channel to cancel the program. Martha Stewart's long-running talk show will come to an end in April, though re-runs will continue through the summer.
The final few months will be like a smaller version of the end of The Oprah Winfrey Show, with small celebrations and a lavish final episode.
There is a chance the show could be resurrected in some form in the future. Though poor ratings and high production values have nixed the current program, if Martha Stewart's company brings production in-house, production costs could drop. Lower costs would create a better business model for its niche audience - and The Martha Stewart Show could return.
When and in what way is anyone's guess.

The man who blackmailed talk show host David Letterman has done his time. Now it's back to work.
Robert Halderman, previously serving four months of a six-month sentence for trying to blackmail Letterman by threatening to reveal his relationship with a former staffer, is allegedly working on the new show On The Case with Paula Zahn for the Investigation Discovery Channel. TVNewser broke the news.
Halderman was once a producer on CBS's 48 Hours, a show similar to On The Case. The IDC show investigates crime mysteries. Halderman works for Weinberger Media, specifically, which produces the show for the network.

While this year seemed quieter than most (remember all the turmoil last year when Jay Leno went back to The Tonight Show? Or the wild extortion scandal that swirled around David Letterman?), it had it's moments.
Mostly moments of transition. Oprah Winfrey said goodbye to The Oprah Winfrey Show and hello to the Oprah Winfrey Network. Regis Philbin retired and George Lopez was cancelled. And everyone was up in arms about The Talk silencing Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete.
What will next year bring? It's anyone's guess. But with Katie Couric, Ricki Lake, Jeff Probst and Steve Harvey joining the daytime mix - and a likely successor to Regis announced - daytime is where the action will be.
And, as always, we'll tell you about it all.
