Back in the days of the old WB network, we fell in love with shows such as Gilmore Girls, Dawson's Creek and Everwood because in each cast, we were able to find a little of ourselves (and probably people close to us) in those unforgettable characters. The CW has brought the magic back with Life Unexpected, a series I seem to fall deeper in love with a little more each week.
Britt Robertson portrays Lux in this heart-warming series and I had the good fortune to speak with the adorably bubbly young star about where her character is headed, what we can expect for the remainder of the first season and how well the cast gets along on the set of Life Unexpected...

It's that time of year again for Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl to make her annual plea to leave the television series that helped make her a household name.
According to People, Heigl was due back on the set of the hit TV series on March 1 following a three-month maternity leave, but she never bothered to show up. A source close to EW states that she "was at home and ready to return to work."
In addition to her maternity leave, ABC has allowed Heigl to take quite a bit of time off this season so she could pursue film projects. She has only appeared in a handful of episodes this season and was scheduled to film five more episodes upon her return.
EW also reports that series creator Shonda Rhimes has finally granted Heigl her greatest wish of all -- to be let out of her contract with ABC. Both sides are apparently still hashing out all the details.
The Katherine Heigl Drama Timeline
- March 2007: Heigl wants a raise
- June 2008: Heigl takes herself out of the Emmy race
- February 2009: Heigl and TR Knight are rumored to want off the show
- March 2009: Heigl wants to stay on the show
- June 2009: Heigl gets to keep her job
What do you all think -- is Grey's Anatomy better off without Izzie? Are you sick of hearing Heigl's whining every year? Post your comments below!

Jack Bauer's days of saving the country from terrorists may be coming to an end this May.
Variety reports that 20th Century Fox TV and the Fox network might be planning to finally stop the clock on the once-popular series 24. This news probably doesn't come as much of a surprise for current and former fans of the show who have watched the series suffer both creatively and in the ratings department.
Variety indicated that Fox may be shopping 24 to another network, but the high cost of production and declining ratings doesn't exactly make the show as marketable as it might have been a couple of years ago.
Should the series end this season, what will happen to Jack Bauer and CTU? A couple of years ago, Kiefer Sutherland indicated that a 24 movie was a very likely possibility in the future. As a fan of the show, I think I'd enjoy seeing Jack Bauer in action up on the big screen. What do you all think? Sound off below!

Imagine beginning your acting career and right off the bat, you get the opportunity to star in a film opposite Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, Adrian Grenier and Anne Hathaway. As if his role in The Devil Wears Prada wasn't enough good fortune for this up and coming actor, he then landed a role in what was to become television's hottest drama series, Mad Men as Harry Crane. His name is Rich Sommer and he's probably one of the luckiest actors in Hollywood!
I had the pleasure of speaking with this hilarious and very sweet actor about working with Meryl Streep, his latest gig on ABC's Ugly Betty, his role on Mad Men and how this role has changed his life....

It's hard to believe that it has been almost 20 years since the original Melrose Place hit the scene and became a huge cultural sensation in the '90s. The show also helped launch the careers of Marcia Cross, Doug Savant, Courtney Thorne-Smith and Kristin Davis.
When I think about the term 'the character you love to hate,' the very first image that usually comes to mind is the dastardly Dr. Michael Mancini, played by Thomas Calabro. The notorious womanizer wormed his way in and out of the hearts of some of show's most memorable women, but despite all of his wrongdoings, we just couldn't help but fall in love with this complex character.
As a diehard fan of the original series, imagine my delight when I learned that Calabro would return to the role he made famous when the CW decided to bring Melrose Place back to life! I had the immense fortune to speak with the charming (and very, very funny) actor about his decision to return to MP, what's ahead for the good doc and his favorite moments from the original series...

Fans of Fox's sci-fi series Fringe can relax for another year -- the network has renewed the show for a third season.
Zap2It was the first to report the good news after they received confirmation from a publicist over at Fox. Many fans of the show have been worried that the network might cancel the series since it has suffered a big dip in the ratings after being moved to Thursday nights (which happens to be the most competitive night on television).
Fringe returns on April 1 after a lengthy winter break. Now that Olivia has returned from the alternate universe, how will she handle the information she has uncovered about Peter? Stay tuned -- the best is yet to come!

Clark Kent may not yet be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but he has managed to do what no other drama on the CW (or the original WB) has been able to accomplish -- earn a 10th season. The CW has just renewed Smallville for one more season.
When the CW transplanted Smallville into the notorious Friday night "death slot," I was worried that its days were numbered -- especially as it was in its 9th season. When the show scored fairly well (by the CW's standards) in the key 18-49 demographic, I soon realized that the move may have actually given the network a foothold in the door on Fridays. The move worked suprisingly well.
To date, the CW has renewed 90210, Gossip Girl, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries for the 2010-2011 season. The network has yet to decide the fate of Melrose Place, One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected.
I do suspect that the 10th season will indeed be the last, so I'm hoping TPTB will do away with their "no tights, no flights" rule and finally allow Clark to fly (I can do without the tights). I would also love to see Lex Luthor return next year to stir the pot once again. What would you like to see the series end? Are you happy about the renewal or do you think it's time for the show to end? Sound off below.

Move over Heroes, there's a new group of ordinary people with extraordinary abilities heading to a living room near you this spring...
As pilot season continues, major roles are being cast for what each of the networks hope will be the next big show, and in the case of ABC, they're banking on No Ordinary Family. The series centers on a seemingly normal American family who one day finds that they have developed superabilities.
Michael Chiklis (The Shield) has already signed on to play Jim (the dad) and according to THR, former Dexter star Julie Benz is the latest to come aboard. Benz, who is currently in the midst of a juicy storyline on Desperate Housewives, will play Jim's wife, a scientist who is described as "a gifted scientist who develops a power for superspeed."
Greg Berlanti, who is responsible for fan favorite series such as Everwood, Dirty Sexy Money and Brothers & Sisters, is at the helm of this promising new series.

The Olympics are over, the torch has been extinguished and that means only one thing -- NBC is back in the drama series business and we couldn't be happier!
At long last, one of the season's most anticipated dramas makes its debut. Parenthood was supposed to premiere back in the fall, but a medical crisis involving series star Maura Tierney delayed production when she had to back out of the show. Producers then went on a search to find a replacement for the very talented Tierney and finally found the perfect match in former Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham.
Are you ready for the next great television dramedy?
Parenthood Synopsis: The blockbuster movie from the '80s comes to the small screen for the second time. This latest incarnation centers around the Braverman family's four grown siblings who are desperately trying to navigate through the trials and tribulations of parenthood, as well as their own personal issues.

Pilot season is well underway and the networks have been busy trying to find the absolute best talent for their upcoming shows for the fall. Here's what we know about the latest stars cast in some of the most buzzworthy pilots...
Alex O'Loughlin: The former Three Rivers star has been tapped to play the lead role in the Hawaii Five-O reboot as Detective Steve McGarrett (as per Zap2It). O'Loughlin joins Lost star Daniel Dae Kim (as Detective Chin Ho Kelly) in the upcoming drama series.
Shane West: The former ER star has been cast as the male lead in the much-debated Nikita reboot. According to THR, West will play the agent in charge of hunting down the original Nikita, who has gone rogue.
Dennis Farina: The former Law & Order star has been cast in Luck, an HBO drama about an ex-con determined to win big at a racetrack... by robbing it.
David Anders: Although this casting news isn't regarding a pilot, I thought it was worth noting that the actor, fresh off his gig with 24, will appear in several episodes of The Vampire Diaries this April. Anders will play Jonathan Gilbert, Elena and Jeremy's uncle.
Laura Innes: The former ER star has been cast in the NBC drama series The Event.
Katee Sackhoff: The former Battlestar Galactica and current 24 star will take on the lead role in an untitled crime drama by Richard Hatem (as per THR). I guess it's safe to say that Dana Walsh's days at CTU are numbered.
Poppy Montgomery: The former Without a Trace star is set to take on the lead female role in ABC's crime drama True Blue. She'll play Katherine Miller, a police captain in San Francisco who will reunite with six former best friends and co-workers to track down the person responsible for killing one of their own. Marc Blucas (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will star as Katherine's ex-husband.
