Jim Jones and more than 900 followers engaged in a mass murder-suicide -- and the relatively new MSNBC Films documentary initiative credibly illustrates Jones' madness in appropriately unsettling detail.

TV Reviews: Some things never change, which is part of "Law & Order's" charm -- a minimalist procedural that can shed series regulars the way snakes shed skin. Season No. 19's premiere, however, finds the venerable franchise in its shakiest state in recent memory, with marginal chemistry among its latest cast configuration and a credibility-straining "hang 'em high" attitude from its Assistant D.A. and his model sidekick.

TV Reviews: Despite rough economic times, Bravo continues to peddle the fabulous life, from the three-pronged "Real Housewives" franchise to Rachel Zoe. Yet even those programs look austere compared with this opulent travelogue featuring luxury tour operator Sara Duffy, whose premiere drops more designer names than an entire season of "Sex and the City."

TV Reviews: "Brotherhood" remains a gritty, competently executed, occasionally gripping crime series that never quite rises to the lofty pay TV standards established by "The Sopranos" and "The Wire." Season three finds the two Caffee brothers estranged, but awkwardly connected to the same unsavory, greed-fueled mix of organized crime and politics.
