About Top 40 / Pop

This is perhaps how "Give Me All Your Luvin'" should have sounded in the first place. This official remix by LMFAO juices up the sound of Madonna's new single making it hot track for parties and the dance floor. The "L-U-V Madonna" chant is pushed more toward the background while the beat is magnified. The new mix keeps the featured rap from Nicki Minaj while dropping the one from M.I.A. In the wake of her Super Bowl halftime performance, Madonna's "Give Me All Your Luvin'" has surged to #2 on the iTunes single sales chart. Regardless of the pop chart fortunes of "Give Me All Your Luvin'," with a remix like this it is destined to land at the top of the dance chart and become Madonna's 40th #1 dance hit, a phenomenal record. iTunes customers are also feeling friendly toward LMFAO after they joined Madonna onstage. "Sexy and I Know It" has roared back into the top 5.

About Top 40 / Pop

Will pop radio programmers finally be paying attention to the power behind "We Are Young" by indie pop band fun? Don't hold your breath, but obviously a few viewers of Chevy Sonic's daredevil Super Bowl commercial were paying attention to the song playing. As expected, Madonna and LMFAO are seeing surging sales in the wake of their performances on the Super Bowl halftime show. However, they are not the only ones. Following its appearance providing the soundtrack for the Chevy Sonic ad, fun's "We Are Young" is in the top 10 on iTunes' digital single sales chart. It has also surged into the top 10 at Amazon.

"We Are Young," with its towering anthemic sound, was picked as the top new song of the week here when initially released last September. It climbed to #15 on the alternative songs chart. In December Glee featured the song and that appearance ultimately resulted in "We Are Young" hitting #53 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is time for pop radio to take notice that this is a song that is not going away.

About Top 40 / Pop

There were a few minor glitches here and there and some slight controversy about whether M.I.A. flashed a gesture, but in sum total Madonna's powerful Super Bowl halftime medley of hits will rank with the best halftime shows. Her performance did not disappoint.

Madonna kicked off the 12 minute extravaganza with eye-filling spectacle being pulled on to the field by a team of muscular gladiators to perform "Vogue." She was joined by acrobatic dancers for the hit "Music" before an interlude with LMFAO for segments of their #1 smash hits "Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy and I Know It." Cheerleaders with gold pom poms framed the performance of Madonna's new single "Give Me All Your Luvin'" and guests Nicki Minaj and M.I.A.. It was during this segment some believed M.I.A. flipped off the camera, but if it did occur, it was very brief. The closing segment reminded us all of the majesty of some of Madonna's most timeless songs when she was joined by a marching band, Cee Lo Green, and ultimately a gospel choir for a medley of "Open Your Heart," "Express Yourself," and "Like a Prayer." Finally, as Madonna disappeared in a puff of smoke the football glowed with lights spelling out "World Peace."

The fact that there seemed a few glitches and a few near stumbles mostly just made the whole Super Bowl performance a bit more human and at times intimate. Madonna clearly knows how to put on a show and please her audience. She even managed to weave football themes into the mix. This was a Super Bowl halftime show to remember.
